Movement choir

“Movement Choir were first conceived by Rudolf Laban, a dance theorist who studied and understood movement as personal choice inspired by the knowledge of our use of space, our engagement in relationship and the dynamics of our movement choices. The purpose of a Movement Choir is to experience the power and joy in community through dance; finding somatic empathy to one another through connection with ourselves in a collective spirit of shared movement.

“Movement Choir is not dance but creative processes and movement exploration. A movement choir’s main goal is for participants to touch and enhance their inner being. Focusing on the simplicity and beauty of the movement, as well as connecting with oneself and others. The union is formed around dance, not designed to perform to an audience but to perform for those participating. Movement choirs are very easily accessible within a community and are known to boost a sense of community morale, brightening moods, forming bonds and increasing the quality of life in an area.”

CAB is looking for people who have the same passion for movement to create a Movement Choir group in Hội An. The group will practice two sessions per week and may participate in future projects.
